1547 - مولد الكاتب الاسباني ( ميغيل دي سيرفانتس سافيدرا ) مؤلف رواية «دون كيشوت».
واحد من أبرز الأدباء الإسبان، ولد في قرطبة (إسبانيا) وهو ابن لصيدلي جراح فقير الحال أمضى طفولته متنقلاً هنا وهناك في إسبانيا.
ميغيل دي ثيربانتِس سابيدرا (Miguel de Cervantes Saavedra) عاش (القلعة 1547م- هو كاتب أسباني. اشتهر بروايته (دون كيخوتى دي لامانشا) (1605-1615م)، وهي تحكي عن شخصية مغامرة حالمة تصدر عنها قرارات لاعقلانية.
، شارك في معركة "ليبنتي" البحرية ضد العثمانيين، وفقد فيها إحدى ذراعيه، فلقبوه بـ"أكتع ليبنتي".
وفي احدى تحرشات الأسطول الاسباني على ضواحي الجزائر أسره جنود سلطان الجزائر وسجنوه خمسة أعوام حتي سددت لهم فدية باهظة فأعيد إلى إسبانيا وبعدها اشترك في القتال بالبرتغال ثم اعتزل الجيش عام 1582 م .
ورجع إلى إسبانيا عام 1584 م فتزوج من "كاتالينا دي سالازار" من منطقة "لامانشا" وأمضى بعض الوقت في موطن زوجته، وعاش حياة صعبة مما اضطره إلى الإستدانة وعجز عن تسديد ديونه فدخل السجن مراراً .

عام 1585 نشر أول رواية خيالية له و أسماها (لاجالاتيا) مكتوبة بالشعر والنثر وتدور حول حياة الرعاة
وفي الفترة (1585 - 1588 ) كتب عشرين مسرحية لم يبق منها سوى اثنتين

عام 1587 استقر في ( إشبيلية) بمنصب المشرف على تموين الأسطول الإسباني (الأرمادا) 0
وشغل وظيفة مأمور في الحرب الإسبانية (الأرمادا) ليدفع ديونه لكن إسبانيا انهزمت عام 1588 م مما أوقع سرفانتس في اضطراب كبير حيث كان قد أودع نقوده عند أحد الصيارفة المفلسين أودع بعدها السجن عند اكتشاف العجز في حساباته.
عام 1597 أفلس البنك الذي كان يضع فيه الأموال ، فوضع "سيرفانتس" في السجن مجددا، واستلهم أثناء فترة سجنه شخصية دون كيشوت دي لامانتشا

عام 1603 غادر السجن عندما كان يكتب روايته (دون كيشوت) واحتجزته الشرطة ثانية عام 1605 م وهي (السنة التي نشر فيها) الجزء الأول.

بعد أن توجَّه الأسطول الإيطالي إلى الشواطئ الليبية أمام طرابلس، وحاصرها ثلاثة أيام، وقصفها قصف بحري على ساحل طرابلس بليبيا بكل عنف، حتى استسلمت لحين تدبير كيفية مقاومة الغزو،

وصار أول رئيس لبولندا بعد انتهاء حقبة الحكم الشيوعي
