يقول بول هاينش: «في زمن الإمبراطور هادريان (132م) ثار اليهود ضد الاستعمار الروماني وأطلقوا على قائدهم اسم «باركوكبا» أي «ابن الكوكب» لأنهم ظنوا أن نبوة بلعام في عدد 24: 17 تحققت في زعيم الثورة «باركوكبا» الذي سيخلصهم من الاستعمار الروماني
اليهود رأوا أن هذه النبوة تشير إلى المسيا.

قاد ( باركوكبا ) قوة مقدارها مئة ألف رجل ونجح في تأسيس دولة يهودية مستقلة استمرت ثلاث سنوات

ويشير هنجستبرج في كتابه «المسيا في العهد القديم» إلى أنه في هذا القائد كان اليهود الأقدمون يرون المسيا الذي يرتبط بشكل ما بداود. فهذه النبوة إما أن تكون عن المسيا أو أنها تشير في المقام الأول إلى داود

أرسل هادريان عدد 12 فرقة عسكر بقيادة (جوليوس سيفيروس) لقمع الثورة اليهودية التي كان يتزعمها (سمعان بار كوكبا )

انتصر الروم علي اليهود و لقي بار كوكبا حتفه في بيتار

لما انتصر الروم علي اليهود قاموا بتدمير فلسطين تدميراً وسحقوا ألف قرية واعدموا 500 ألف رجل يهودي وقيل أزهقت أرواح 600 ألف يهودي ( الرقم تقديري

ودمر الرومان القدس تدميرا تاما وباعوا آلاف الرجال عبيدا

وتقرر منع اليهود من العودة إلي القدس، وجري اخراج اليهود من فلسطين ومنعهم من دخولها نهائياً

وفر من نجا من اليهود إلى جزيرة العرب.
يعد عام 135م، نقطة تحول خطيرة في التاريخ اليهودي ، ويقولن : فيه تغيّر وجه التاريخ اليهودي إلى الأبد.
