Nicaragua  wants to to build a shipping channel across Nicaragua that would compete with the Panama Canal.
This is a nation way to earn money but  no specific route for the canal was defined

Nicaragua's National Assembly voted to grant the  Hong Kong-based (HK Nicaragua Canal Development Investment Company) a 50-year concession to study, then possibly build and run, the canal.

Nicaragua's President Daniel Ortega and Chinese businessman (Wang Jing) have signed an agreement giving his company (HK Nicaragua Canal Development Investment Company) the right to build a shipping channel across Nicaragua

The Canal   project would transform one of the region's poorest countries by bringing tens of thousands of jobs to the country and fueling an economic boom that would mimic the prosperity of nearby Panama and its U.S.-built canal.

علي سبيل الاختصار هذه القناة قناة ملاحية دولية ستشق نيكاراجوا عرضياُ وستسير فيها السفن التجارية من المحيط الأطلنطي إلي المحيط الهادي
أو العكس

ووظيفة قناة نيكاراجوا ستكون نفس وظيفة قناة بناما
أي ستنقسم حصيلة رسوم الملاحة من الأطلنطي للهادي والعكس بين الدولتين حسب أمزجة أصحاب السفن يمروا في قناة بناما أو قناة نيكاراجوا
وعندئذ سيكون هناك مجال للضغط علي الدولة التي تحدد  رسم مرور ملاحي أعلي
ولذا ستضيق بناما بتصرف نيكاراجوا  الذي سيزيل احتكار بناما للمرور بين المحيطين و سيقسم  دخل مرور السفن بين الدولتين وسيخضع رسم المرور لضغوط التوكيلات الملاحية
